Overview

A Spring 2024 student project focused on creating an innovative app, Doop is designed to help users effortlessly find “dupes” for trending beauty, fashion, and lifestyle products. By providing multiple sources of affordable alternatives to high-end items, Doop empowers shoppers to enjoy luxurious looks without the hefty price tag.

The app not only offers a seamless experience for discovering dupes but also fosters a vibrant community of like-minded users who share product recommendations, reviews, and tips. This sense of community encourages users to connect, discuss the latest trends, and share their best finds, making Doop the go-to destination for savvy shoppers looking to stay stylish on a budget.

Design Process

Beginning with a comprehensive research plan focused on understanding user needs through targeted interviews, I crafted a set of thoughtful questions to guide these conversations. Enabling the gathering of valuable insights on user behavior and preferences on dupes of luxury items focusing on trending beauty and fashion items. Based on this research, I identified key findings that informed the app's functionality and user experience.

I then created low-fidelity wireframes for all app screens, mapping out the layout and navigation flow. This iterative process ensured a user-centric design structure. To maintain visual consistency, I developed a detailed style guide specifying essential design elements, including button styles, typography, spacing, and color schemes. This guide served as a foundation for building a cohesive app interface.
